The first annual Red Cross Fair was organized in 1923, it was called “ Membership Recruitment Campaign and more than 13,436 members were recruited at a membership fee of 1 baht each. It was continued, expanded year by year and has traditionally become the most popular annual for of Bangkok and other provinces through out the country.
The annual fair is also an opportunity for organizations, government agencies, public institutions, foundations benefactors and people of good will in general to join together to show the result of their efforts along the work of the Thai Red Cross in various programs to seek donations.
At present, the annual Red Cross Fair was still held at Amporn Garden (Suan Amporn) , the Royal Plaza (the ground in front of the Bureau of the Royal Household), Sri-Ayudhaya Road and the outer Grand Promenade Road during end of March until first week of April and every year with more than 200 organizations both governmental and non-governmental set up their booths with various activities and amusement shows.
